Thank you for this hint.
In addition I found out that the winload.exe.mui always has to be in the \windows\system32\boot\en-US directory, even if the other mui files are places in your language-specific folder (e.g in my case all other mui files are places in de-DE)

I placed winload.exe.mui in Windows\System32\Boot\en-US\ within my boot.wim. Once you've done that you also need to run the bcdedit commands on the BCD of WinPE 2.0 itself. Then recompile everything.

Are you replacing it within your boot.wim? I'll double-check the location tomorrow at work for you.

Do i still have to place the winload.exe.mui in the directory \windows\system32\EN-us, because i could not find any winload.exe.mui there, like the guide on myvistaboot.com says. I was able to find winload.exe.mui in \windows\system32\boot\en-US but replacing it did nothing.
